Mr. Keller "Outs" Himself
First see this by Arianna Huffington.
And why am I glad to hear this about Mr. Keller?
Because it shows who he's taking his instructions from: Karl Rove.
Who else was publicly knocking the blogs this week? It wasn't Bill O'Reilly, was it?
Hey, if the facts don't support you, just forget 'em. If others are scooping your stories, villify and discredit them.
It's also clear that the blogoshpere and bloggers have got the Republican Spin Machine, Karl Rove, Bill Keller and the NYT on the run. And they can run, but they can't hide. Now they REALLY wish they'd included Internet-controlling legislation in the Patriot Act!
Here's another clue. The 3 mouseketeers. I love the "Operatives in the NYT" idea, it works for me. Precisely. Why else would Judy Miller lie and feel no fear of being "Jason Blaired"? Why else would the NYT print the mea-culpa but leave her name out of it? Etc, etc, etc.
She's being protected, therefore she would protect. Er...she was being protected and protecting. The aspen's are turning and it's a beautiful thing. Could she really be in a position to bring down the Bush administration AND the NYT? It's certainly a possibility. NOTES FROM JUNE 2003! Perjury!
My view: a conspiracy. White House + NYT = Public Support for WAR = $$$. (This should really be drawn as a circle or like a snake biting it's own tail: endless corruption)
This is where I differ from Lambert. No money?? Ha! LOTS of money. The question is where is it?
The other shoe drops.....
and where did Mr. Keller make his bloggy attack? The Association of NATIONAL ADVERTISERS. Why would Bill think he had to tell this august body about the bad, bad bloggers? You think the big advertisers are about to start running blog-ads and stop running print ads? I can just see it: Ads for GM cars and trucks on The Next Hurrah, or the Daily Kos or, could it be, the Huffington Post. And pharmaceutical ads, too.
The ANA folks heard what they needed Bill Keller to tell them: "I'm on your side and don't worry about those pesky bloggers; the record profits are gonna continue. We control what the public thinks and believes, not the blogs."
Out of the closet, Bill Keller!
